If you are cutting for a long period of time, it is recommended to wear some type of respiratory protection to avoid inhaling particles. Protective gloves and footwear specifically steel toe boots should be worn during concrete cutting. Avoid wearing nice or loose clothing while operating a machine because they could be caught in the equipment.
Prepare Cutting Lines and Monitor Rotation
Planning is key to avoiding any onsite accidents while concrete cutting. Mark your lines before you cut to ensure accuracy and go slow while operating the blade. Trying to speed up the process will just cause an unnecessary accident. Make sure to pay attention when you are changing the angle of your saw and stay away from that area when cutting.
Learn How To Handle Interruptions
As with any line of work, interruptions will occur during the day and you will have other responsibilities to take care of suddenly. If you are interrupted during cutting, remember to turn off your machine completely and set it aside in a safe area. The one thing you want to avoid is a running saw on the ground!
